Wind howled through the trees, bending the branches and making the wood creak in resistance. Not even the smallest ray of sunlight was able to penetrate the darkened sky. But the world was not without light. The occasional crash of lightning would bolt from the sky, casting eerie shadows across the forest floor. It was in these shadows that a figure raced, tail streaming behind it like a ribbon. The figure's black fur was plastered to its body due to the driving rain. It kept its body close to the ground, gliding over the floor with an effortless gait.
